“Been buying these little speakers from Pimoroni for years now (must be on my 10th order by now!). Every time I start a new Pi project, I grab a couple of these along with an Adafruit I2S 3W amp.
Honestly, the sound quality is ridiculous for the size and price. My Raspberry Pi desktop setups sound absolutely fantastic with this combo. Way better than those rubbish computer speakers you get for £20 at PC World.
The mounting holes line up perfectly every time - no messing about. I've crammed these into all sorts of weird project boxes over the years and they just work. Never had one fail on me either.
Quick tip - definitely pair it with the I2S amp if you're serious about audio. Makes a massive difference compared to the built-in audio out on the Pi. Night and day difference really.
Been using Pimoroni for ages now and they've never let me down. Same with these speakers - they're just solid. Perfect for retro gaming builds, internet radios, you name it.
If you're on the fence about these, just buy them. At this price you can't go wrong. Already planning my next order...

“Great little speaker and suited to the use in a swift call system to highlight that boxes are installed for them. Find out more at: actionforswifts.blogspot.com call systems! Save the swifts!”
“Great little speaker. Bought 4 of them for an interactive sculpture. Speakers work fine with dfrobot MP3 players. Just need to get the rest of it working...”
“A surprisingly powerful little speaker. I had low expectations for the size, but it works well and fits perfectly in the project I was putting it in. Great value for the price.”
“Fantastic speaker for the size and price. Used it with the 'Audio Amp SHIM (3W Mono Amp)' and fits great into my mini cartoon player project. Would definitely recommend”
