I don't think the documentation makes clear which pins are which; it might be obvious to someone with a little experience but as a novice I had to check with a multimeter. So for the benefit of anyone checking the product page for help: you want to use a pair of pins on the same side of the switch, not a pair opposite each other. (Or you could use two on the diagonal from each other.)”
