“I have just received this item and I haven't tried to use it with a camera to take photos, but this is a standard mobile phone lens - as such it comes with a clamp to place around the pi/camera/phone. Hence you need to have the camera for the pi in an appropriate container that the clamp will fit AND align the lens to the camera which is a manual process. Unless someone can come up with a screw-on fitting to fit the lens to the camera directly, then keeping the lens/camera/pi stable may be challenging.”
“Haven't used it yet but it looks very well made for the price. Only concern is that the supplied clip has a very strong spring. I don't feel comfortable with it squashing the components on the circuit board when mounted as shown in the picture. Will have to look at other ways of mounting.”
“I bought this lens to 'upgrade' one of my wildlife cameras. I didn't use the clip because I wanted to attach the lens directly to a project box.
I am really impressed with the images I have been capturing. I am using it with the Raspberry Pi V2.1 Camera Module. Details of my wildlife camera and the type of photo achievable with this lens can be found here: http://pibat.afraidofsunlight.co.uk/pi-projects
For the price, it is very impressive :-)”
