“Got this cam for a 3D scanning setup. It works very well and the autofocus is a dream to work with (before I have been working with the raspy camera V1.3). Picture quality is great.”
“Really good quality. Had a hard time making it work on Buster, but it was not supposed to work on it to begin with, so it's not an issue.
I'm just slightly disappointed that the autofocus is made only one time, so it needs extra work to really use it.”
“I will give the 16MP Camera 5 Stars if I get it working. I've read, and installed your drivers, software, etcetera, and it still does nothing. I've even downloaded and installed the ArduCam Plugins for OctoPrint with no joy.
I'm not sure what's next, but perhaps a new OS. I'm currently running OctoPi 1..0.0rc2 on Bullseye.”
“It's great quality once you get it working, but the instructions by ArduCam leave a lot to be desired. I had several issues getting it working with OpenCV on Bullseye, but did get it working in the end.”
“Technically very interesting and inexpensive but I could only access the RPI camera using the libcamera-commands. I could not use any other software relying on /dev/videoX devices. The installation of the software can be difficult so I cannot recommended it for beginners. There was also a quality issue: The camera sensor wasn't correctly placed and was a bit off-centered (probably because of the stiff camera cable). I needed to carefully remove the camera and re-place it with a double-sided tape. Otherwise I was unable to close the Arducam Camera Case which I've bought separately. Be careful to not touch the lens as it's very small and difficult to clean. I recommend to leave the autofocus lens protection on until the camera module is in it's final position.”
