“This tri-coloured ePaper screen behaved somewhat differently to what I had expected. That said it has its uses, just not for the one I had in mind!

The screen size is good, legibility is very good even (especially) in bright (sun)light and having the extra red colour makes the display stand out for notices, for example. Even the screen flickering whilst updating can make it more noticeable, if that's your intention.
I'd like to try a black and white screen next to see how quickly I can update it, possibly a partial screen refresh rather than the whole screen (which I have to do with the tri-colour one).
The photos show the image that is now about 3 weeks old and still very legible, with absolutely no power being applied during this time. Ideal for weather station updates every 30 minutes for example!”
“OK - the Jury is still out on this one. I was hoping to use this as a display for a marine electrical monitoring system, but three minutes! between screen updates isn't going to crack it.
I shall have to use it for another project and buy a TFT display for the monitor.
Disappointing.”
