In the brand-new neutral road running shoes features Rivera, the lightest one out of the Altra's zero drop family. The new Bio heel technology holds your feet securely in place for a smooth foot strike to toe off transition. The rounded toe box allows your foot to spread in natural way for additional comfort.

I am new to Altra recently. I'd often wondered why people who like Altras don't just like them a bit, they LOVE them... and now, I see why. The fit is fantastic. Weirdly, I found I was a half size bigger in the Rivera than in the Lone Peak which is always annoying. The midfoot has got you nice and securely, but then your toes have room to spread naturally. With every stride you feel your toes and feet actually working properly. It really is seductive. There has been a lot said about the ego midsole - and for good reason. It is absolutely lovely. A great amount of cushioning which I love. I had previously been running in Hoka's, and this is easily as nice a ride. They feel really grippy, and the midsole fit means you can swing round corners with confidence that you won't slip in the shoe. The laces are good, meaning you can adjust quite well to get the lock down you want. Finally just to stress that these are a zero drop shoe. For most (myself included) this will take a bit of transitioning if you've not run in zero drops before.

Excellent road shoes. Plenty of bounce, the usual Altra toe box and all extremely light weight.
