La Sportiva’s Mutant fell running shoe for women is great for many different types of off-road terrain from muddy hills and mountains to fields and parks. The sole is ultra-sticky rubber with deep, well-spaced lugs to optimize grip on slippery ground, including mud and scree.

“These feel really secure on the foot and heel. I love the side-lacing laces and the footprint of the shoe is better - larger - than some trail shoes so the 'land' feels really secure. The colours are garish and terrifying and this means I would not have selected this if it hadn't been recommended, which is a shame as it's a fantastic trail shoe. A heel drop of 10mm means they are good for heel strikers, cushioned, and yet feel very secure underfoot. So far no slippage on even thick mud. I love them. Note: they are not waterproof.”

“These are sized rather small. Such a shame as the grip soles were just what I wanted but I didn’t go up a size as I think I would Need at least two up for the width I’d need and would be tripping up.”
