“I was so excited to get these clip ins - I got the 18inch clip ins, which came in a wonderful silk/satin bag with a detangling brush and edges comb.
I was impressed with the product from the start, whilst washing and conditioning I was mesmerised by the texture and beauty of the curls! There was also very minimal shedding during this process. There is a lottt of hair! I was worried with the density of my hair that 8 pieces might not be enough but it was the right amount.
I love wearing my hair in a max hydration style (ie not dry and brushed out), so I inserted the clip ins semi-wet with leave in conditioner and gel. Overall I think the clip ins maintained beautiful curls and texture.
My only small complaint is I definitely have more kinky 4c coils than the clips in (which are more 4b than 4c), so there was a visible difference between my leave out and the clip ins. But I am excited to trying the clip ins in a dried and brushed out style (with my coils a little more stretched) next time.”
“I love my new clip-ins! I bought the 18" ones and the curl pattern is stunning. I separated the layers, deep conditioned them in my steam cap for 30 mins, rinsed, squeezed out the water with a towel then proceeded to add a leave-in conditioner, a bit of oil and some aloe whipped butter gel and left it to air dry. It came out so beautifully! The hair is super soft and bouncy and I thought brushing out the hair with the RUKA brush after I put in the products would ruin the pattern but I was wrong (don't blame me, I'm a novice!).
Also, being a graphic designer with a marketing and branding background, I can't help but comment on the RUKA branding, the brand experience and the brand touch points. Everything has been carefully thought through; from the tone of voice to the packaging and of course the incredible virtual launch experience. Well done to everyone involved and well done Tendai for actualising your vision. I'm beyond proud to be an early RUKA babe/co-creator!”
