I have had one of these rugs for a couple of months now. To be honest I am a bit disappointed with it. Asiatic have jumped on the shabby chic bandwagon big style with this rug. A pity, (in my opinion) as I like new rugs to look like new rugs. This one does not, it just looks old and tired and generally worn out.. It is not obvious from the photo on this site but some of the colours are very muted and some of the lighter blues are very hard to see. In addition, Asiatic have woven a lot of darker abrash into the main beige colour of the main field and outer border. This does have the effect of making the rug look aged, (which some may regard as a plus). Unfortunately, it also makes the rug look filthy dirty. I doubt that this would be regarded as a plus point by many people. The rug does have some very good points. It is a pleasing medallion design and not thank heaven yet another variation of the huge, over provided multitude of Zeigler designs. Some of the colours such as the reds and the darker blues are very nice. However, in my opinion this rug could have been so much better. I think that Asiatic could achieve this by losing about 50% of the darker abrash in the main field of the rug and by losing it altogether in the outer border. In addition, I think that some of the colours in the rug such as the light blues need to be stronger and less muted. All this is of course my opinion. I like new to look new and this rug totally fails on that score. Some will love the built in shabby chic look. Personally, I can't wait until shabby chic is no longer fashionable among rug manufacturers, as at the moment it seems to be ever present.
