“I used this trim with 5.2mm cladding. It was IMPOSSIBLE to get the second part of the coving to fit with the cladding in place. I had to remove all the joining parts on the first piece and then glue the second piece in place. Nightmare job with the first piece stuck in place and the cladding butted against it.”

This trim is designed for use with 8mm thick cladding. By the sounds of your issue your cladding was thicker than 8mm.

These trims are designed for 8mm boards. From the sounds of your description you boards sound thicker than 8mm stopping the locking lug from attaching.
