Easy to Fit, Atlantis Wall Panels can be installed directly over existing tiles and is an ideal product for kitchens or catering units as a splashback. Please note: The Composite panels from Atlantis do not come bonded to a plywood or PVC, they are a 3mm composite panel embossed with a tile effect finish. It is recommended they are fitted to a continuous flat surface to help provide support to the panels. Storage: It is imperative that panels are conditioned prior to fitting by laying flat in the room they are to be fitted for 2-3 days. Most panels exhibiting a small bow or twist can be used and are not faulty. The mechanical method of fixing required should pull the panels flat against the wall and any small bow can be removed when storing the panels flat to condition with the bow side facing up. If a slight bow makes it difficult for the panel to sit flush with the fixing surface, we would recommend placing something soft on the panel to protect the finish from scratching and applying pressure to the panel until the adhesive grabs and the panel stays in place. You can also use timber batons to secure the boards in place while the adhesive sets, again while making sure not to damage the decorative surface. Atlantis Tile Effect panels are suitable for use as a splash back but cannot be installed in direct contact with a heat source i.e. immediately behind a gas hob.
