I wanted to share some positive feedback along with a few constructive suggestions that I hope are helpful. I recently placed an online order and was genuinely impressed. I was able to find the products I needed at the best price, and it was great to see a local business offering such competitive online stock levels. One of the reasons I like shopping at Roys is because you consistently have strong in‑store availability, and it was reassuring to see that this carries through online as well. The option to collect in store was another big plus. Being able to walk to my nearest branch, avoid postage costs, and pick up a few extra bits while I was there made it a win‑win. Where the experience fell down slightly was the collection process itself. For context, I work professionally in business improvement and process optimisation, so I’m sharing this purely in the spirit of continuous improvement. When I arrived, I joined the main till queue like any other customer and let the team know I was there to collect an online order. Because this isn’t handled separately, it created a bottleneck. Staff had to pause what they were doing, call for support, and manage the order retrieval while queues continued to build. I often see long queues in store, which is a good sign that people enjoy shopping with you, but it does highlight a pressure point. A few ideas that might help streamline things: A dedicated collection point, even a small one, with a simple touchpad check‑in or even just a doorbell to alert staff that a collection customer is waiting. A separate workstation where staff can handle the technical side of online order processing without interrupting the main tills. Reviewing the main till layout and flow; double‑sided tills or a more open configuration could help reduce queue length and improve throughput. I love the shop, I value supporting local businesses, and I want to see Roys continue to thrive. These suggestions are offered with that in mind. I’m happy to discuss further if it would be useful.
