“Plus points: Does a good job of greening the grass and killing the moss. Bad points: Heavy and awkward bag to lift and pour. Difficult to dispense accurately, it would help if the granules were a contrasting colour to the grass (eg blue) so you could see where you have been. I've tried a wheeled dispenser and a handheld, neither are ideal but the handheld is more controllable. I always end up with 'grins' where the granules have missed a bit. Difficult to get the right conditions (moist earth, rain within 24 hours). If no rain, watering it in takes ages. Once the moss is dead then you must rake it out and then wait 6 weeks before sowing seed, so for much of the summer your lawn looks a mess. Every year I wonder if it's worth it, but the alternative is worse so I end up doing it. As you can tell, I'm not much of a gardener!”
