“This is a large roof box that will carry the personal attire of a typical family of four on holiday while keeping it dry and secure. Such boxes are very useful on a seaside holiday for transporting the various items used on the beach while keeping the sand out of the car interior.
I bought this size of box to enable me to carry a picnic table and four folding chairs without taking-up space for readily available items inside the car.
This box can be opened from either side of the car and the locking key can only be removed with the box securely fastened shut.
At speeds of 70mph on my Toyota Avensis Estate there seems to be no intrusive wind noise.
A similar box on an Audi A4-B5 Avant, made a right-old racket at a similar speed; and I am inclined to think that the noise was a result of mounting the box too far forwards. On the Avensis the box will only mount in a mid-position.”
“The roof box itself is fine for someone who is not disabled. When I’ve made the call to order a roof box, I explained to the operator I was disabled and needed something very easy to put on and off the roof bars. The one I have bought does not do this. It needs to be manoeuvered across and slid across the roof bars very, very difficult. My friend has one and all he does
He’s placed a box on the top and move a couple of levers. Not possible with the box I was sent.
I’ve not had a roof box before I explained this was all very new to me. I was guided by the person on the phone.”
“It's easy to fit to bars with T track, it has huge amounts of space, being able to open from both sides is great and the central locking system makes life so much easy when you are trying to close it.”
