“I changed my car, so naturally had to change my roof bars and fixing points. I primarily use the roof bars to carry my two Thule 591 bike carriers. I originally had Thule square bars for occasional use of bike carriers - I take off the roof bars and bike carriers when not in use. The Airo bars make the installation and dissambly of the bike carriers somewhat / unncessarily awkward as you have to first remove the rubber strip inserts and then slide the fixing bolts out of the top recess rather than simply unclamping the square bar fixings. The square bar system is much faster!! and a bit cheaper! The fixing system to the flush roof bar fixing points is acceptable, somewhat fiddly, but not as good as simple bolt on my previous Avensis estate 2012 (I now have a Corolla estate) - progress, not! My main regret is selecting Airo bars option over the square bars. C'est la vie!”
“Average roof bars if compare to Thule I owned on other car. Look like someone forgot something about quality especially plastic elements are very bad and doesn't look good and doesn't fit good. I do prefer Thule for quality and I like Cruz for price.”
“The bars are very good quality, the fixing to the Dacia duster was easy, but the cover pieces are not the best. They don’t seem to connect together well as the rubber seal does not make them flush. There is also no key to get to fixings. If somebody wanted to take them off they would just need a socket set.”
“Got these in June for my Astra Van H. They are listed for the Astra H estate, but roofwise, the two vehicles are identical. Didnt get around to fitting until last week. Started to fit and initially the instructions seemed confusing. Took a few breaths and read through thoroughly. Suddenly all made sense. Kit even comes with two spanners which are purpose made for this set of bars, and made fitting a doddle. I ordered load stops and eye bolts and fitted the load stops as well. Bars are really solid on the roof rails, feel much better than the rack I was replacing. Used it in anger two days later and I am impressed. Well worth the money. If you're gonna buy, Invest in the load stops too. they are easily removeable, but what a difference they make when you need to secure your items”
