“My need was simple. I needed 4 bike racks to go on a family holiday. As for future use, likely to be minimal, the occasional trip out, probably half a dozen times a year. Therefore I didn't want to spend a fortune. They do the job, very sturdy, easy to use and once built up they are built up. I've dropped a star because I have 4 and it's one key for each, I've colour coded the keys. A bit of a faff but not the end of the world. They need assembling with nuts and bolts as opposed to a sliding mechanism. Once you've built one up its easy, again bit of a faff but I remind myself I didn't want to spend a lot and it's for minimal use. The fabric straps around the wheel, I would be tempted to by some rubber style hook and loop, so they can stay on and I'm not fiddling with a buckle 8 times, but again I wanted low cost. All in all a great value for money bike carrier that does the job perfectly well. I'd need to spend double the money to iron out my issues which I dint want to do given my requirements and use. Once it's on, it's on.
Even with 4 carriers on whisper bars there really isn't much extra wind noise. Once the bikes are on different story but I'm not overly worried about taking them on and off the car each use.”
“Good value basic bars and bike carriers. Fitting was, though, a bit of an issue. Took me far too long with far too much bad language. The instructions are ok but just OK. Once fitted, they are secure and the bike carriers were sturdy and easy to use. Future fitting remains an issue as they ought to be fully disassembled each time. This is a real phaff. I am only an occasional user and it's a bit discouraging to anticipate a fair bit of time to be taken up each time I want to use them. Requires some forward planning.”
