“Managed to assemble and get the rack on the tow bar in about 2 hours. Someone competant would probably manage it much faster. We want it for a Defender which has a wheel on the back. I already knew from research that would mean one of the rack placements would be unusable, but for anyone else wondering, the other three places are fine, though you're not getting the boot open too far, even with the tilt mechanism due to the side opening boot.”
“Excellent product. Required building and the instructions were quite straight forward plus the carrier is extremely secure on the car. The fixing straps for the bikes are great quality and provide a secure fix, I had no concerns about the bikes and knew they weren't going anywhere!
Lastly, the tilting option of this rack is a godsend, extremely simple to use and meant we could easily access the boot of the car whilst the bikes and rack were fixed and intact.
I used a couple of extra straps for security and just had to buy another number plate to fit to the rack. Note, you don't need any fixing for the number plate, the rack already has screw mounts the hold the number plate in place.
