“Looks good and structurally sound enough to carry the its rated load. All very good but marked down becuause upper clamping straps extremely difficult to loosen. Have had to resort to using a piece of rope to pull the flexible strap through the release mechanism (and before anyone says it - that's having pressed/pulled the release lever). Bottom straps work fine. I've kept the carrier because I THINK the problem will ease with use. Without this problem i'd have given the carrier full marks for everything”

“If you're after a high quality tow bar cycle carrier that'll work with a full size 6m Ford Transit, this is the one. Manufacturers, including even Atera, don't comment on them fitting a full size Transit. But having measured it up prior, then bought this, I can confirm the Transit doors will fully open with this Strada Evo RV fitted loaded with two adult bikes. I still think these are all a bit expensive for what they are, but this is high quality and spares are available, so all good. Bit surprised tradityional bulbs are used for the lights not LEDs.”
“I have a VW T6 with barn doors. Spoke to a helpful consumer care agent who provided info on the bike carrier. Placed my order and a few days later we were away! It does take a knack to fit it for the first time but now it’s very easy. Bikes are very secure - like the fact that you can lock the bikes to the rack for extra security.”
“The Atera Strada Evo RV 2 is a great cycle carrier. I very nearly didn’t buy because of the manufacturer comment that there needs to be 50mm clearance between the top of the tow ball and the bottom of the barn door for it to work. My clearance was 35mm and it worked perfectly fine with loads of clearance in the mechanisms so I don’t know why the manufacturer stipulated this. My only gripe would be is that the ratchet strap holding the bike frame is very difficult to release once tightened. I have a VW T6.1 with barn doors for reference.”
“The closing mechanism doesn't work properly (certified by the technician) soy number plate dropped off and was lost. The arm holding the bike in place is so difficult to operate I have to ask a man to do it. It doesn't enable both ( barn) doors to open as promised and despite 4 different people trying it is with great difficulty I managed to lock the arm in place at all. Then after having it a month, the locking mechanism came out of the bike when I removed the key and won't go back again. It's wasted hours of my time, money (I'm on my third number plate) and my cycling holiday was ruined as it takes an hour to get my bike off and in and use alternative methods if securing it. The components feel cheap and nasty ( I'm just waiting for something else to go wrong). My previous Thule bike rack was so much better designed and with quality components. Your bars below don't allow me to select the lowest score for everything! And the picture upload is glacially slow.”
“Fabulous! The Atera Strada RV bike rack does exactly what it says on the tin. Very sturdy carrier for two weighty e-bikes. Feels very secure, even at speed on the motorway. Best of all, I can still open the rear doors on my VW Transporter with the bikes on”
