Our Pioneer Hat features UPF 40+ sun protection and a large brim around the circumference of the hat for extra protection and shade from harmful UV rays. Excellent for summer in hot and sunny conditions.Our designers incorporated an internal pocket into the hat for the wearer to carry small essential items needed on an expedition trip such as cash, card etc. This pocket also doubles up as a Packpocket, perfect for travel and easy stowage.
UPF 40+ Sun Protection Note
All of our garments are tested for their Ultraviolet Protection Factor, and those that achieve a rating of UPF40+ are noted as protection against UV. Garments awarded a 40+ UPF block 97.5% of UV radiation rating, so for every 40 units of radiation, 39 are blocked, and 1 contact the skin.
Insect Shield® Note
Insect Shield® technology converts clothing into convenient, comfortable and effective protection against biting insects. Each Insect Shield® labelled garment is treated with Permethrin, an invisible an odourless ingredient which protects against insects such as mosquitoes, ticks, ants, flies, chiggers and midges. The treatment is so tightly bonded to the fabric fibres that it retains effectiveness through the expected life of the product – well beyond the limits of most fabric finishes.
