The Valley Jacket is a great addition to your weekend trips to the countryside. This multi-pocketed jacket has the perfect amount of stretch, so you can go straight from your rural morning walk to the local pub for lunch. We’ve incorporated key styling features from our much-loved Bags Trousers, like chunky zips and snap closures, into this jacket, along with a Rohan must-have: a selection of pockets to store your essentials for your adventures. There are two side-entry hand pockets, two large drop-in pockets at the front with secure zip and snap fastenings, and a roomy internal zipped pocket.
Our MultiFlex fabric makes this layer perfect for exploring, as it offers unrestricted movement. The blend of polyamide and elastane creates a lightweight yet durable stretch fabric, which we’ve finished with Durable Water Repellency (DWR), to protect you from unexpected showers. DWR forces rain to ‘bead up’ on the surface of the fabric and run off, keeping you dry while you move.
For extra protection from the elements when you need it, the roll-away hood has concealed adjustment points at the front, so you can tighten the fit around your face. And if you’re wearing a backpack, the mesh lining across the upper back and shoulders wicks away moisture for extra comfort.
When the weather warms up but light rain is still on the horizon, the Men’s Valley Jacket will keep you comfortable as you cross the trails. Fabric: 93% Polyamide 7% Elastane

I spent quite a bit of time before deciding on the Valley Jacket, I needed to replace my old Mountain Guide jacket which had lost its proofing and DWP wash-in didn’t work. My options were 2 jackets from different manufacturers but both had just 2 pockets and lacked an inside pocket. As the Valley has 5 [inc 1 inside] that really tipped the balance. Plus it was half price in the sale, the other contenders were also reduced but the price was almost twice as as much as the Valley. Although the 2 other contenders were mountain grade I felt I didn’t need that level for this jacket. I have 3 other jackets which are suitable for really wet weather anyway. I was looking for something to wear about town and do low level walking in the country. I think the Valley will suit that purpose very well. The fit is true to size and roomy enough for some layers if needed. The length is good as well not too short. I like the chunky zips and press stud fasteners [not a fan of Aquaguard zips]. The jacket reminds me of the Pampas & Savannah jackets of long, long ago. I would have preferred the hood to be able to fit inside the collar but the strap which enabled it to be rolled up will prevent it flapping again the back of the head in the wind when not in use, A double ended zip would be a welcome addition too. I haven’t been able to fully road test it yet but if it performs like I think it will do then it will be the perfect coat to fit between my Windshadow and mountain coats I’ll post an update later if need be.

A good price for a utility light weight jacket. I’ve not been able to rain test it as yet but if it meets Rohan’s usual performance standards then it meet all my requirements. It has a very comfortable feel about it, multiple pockets, unfortunately it lacks a large internal pocket( that I use to carry a newspaper from the stowage aspect that is the only thing it lacks. Overall a good purchase and I look forward to getting a lot of wear out of it.
