Lightweight and breathable, our Men’s Helios Vest is the perfect addition to your activewear wardrobe. Packing into its own Packpocket, this vest will take up hardly any space in your cupboard between trips, or in your backpack as you explore the hills, ready to be thrown on as soon as the temperature starts to drop.
Tough, ripstop outer fabric has been treated with our Durable Water Repellency finish, protecting you from any unexpected showers by making raindrops bead up and roll away before they can soak into your clothes. And if it’s really pouring, the Helios Vest doubles as a great mid-layer to keep your core warm under a waterproof shell, so you can enjoy your local walking trails without giving the winter weather a second thought.
Designed with 100% recycled polyester Insuloft insulation, this high-performance warm layer will shield you from the cold whether you’re heading into the early morning chill for a dog walk, or climbing into colder temperatures at the top of the peaks. Insulation is body-mapped in key areas for increased performance; on the chest and rear panels a membrane is bonded to the insulation to draw moisture away from you, ensuring all-day comfort on your most active climbs.
Thoughtful features like a brushed tricot lining add warmth to the two zipped hand pockets, and extra comfort to the back of your neck, while the elasticated armholes ensure total freedom of movement and an adjustable hem means you can easily customise the fit of your Helios Vest while you’re on the move.
With three zipped security pockets, one of which doubles as a Packpocket, you know that the essentials you need while you’re out on the trails are safe and close at hand. Combining practical features with cold-weather protection, this vest has been designed to move with you as you adventure in the great outdoors.

I used one of these on a recent trip to the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco where I and a colleague were training Berber Mountain Guides for internationally accredited qualifications for UIAA Mountain Hiking Skills, RGS Off Site Safety Management and REC First Aid. This vest met my requirements completely although it would be even better with a hood. I like the blue but wondered if the gold lining might get a bit grubby on a longer trip. Whilst trekking, it generally lives in a compression sack in my rucksack ready for when I stop and need to keep warm whilst training participants or breaks for tradional Berber mint tea or the delicious lunch stops. It took some time to realise the PackPocket was inside in the chest pocket! A tag on the zip puller might be useful to indicate this? Alan Ward - International Mountain Leader

This is a very comfortable and warming piece of clothing. I already had the Icepack Vest, blue, bought years ago, and I wanted something similar in a different colour. This has the same number of pockets as the Icepack but has an elasticated arm aperture, reducing the risk of draughts.

I have owned a Frostpoint Vest for well over a year but wanted something a little more vibrant in colour so ordered the Helios Vest in Maple Orange size medium which is a perfect fit for my 5'8" 40" chest frame. The outer has a smooth shiny finish, which may not suit everyone but I love it. The outside pocket lining is particularly soft and warm. Has only one inside pocket compared to the Frostpoint two, but I have found this adequate. If you want a warm, windproof vest that is light and packs down small then the Helios is for you. I bought in the sale which made it excellent value.
