I’m really sorry to hear that you found the Simnel Cake a little dry and that’s certainly not the experience we want for any of our customers, especially with something as special as a seasonal bake.
We’ve looked into this with our product team, and I just wanted to reassure you that we haven’t made any recent changes to the recipe. We’ve also carried out checks on the same batches following similar comments, and each time the cakes have met the expected quality and moisture levels.
In situations like this, it does seem to come down to personal taste in that some customers prefer a firmer, more traditional Simnel texture, while others prefer a softer, more moist finish. However, should you feel that the Simnel Cake is exceptionally dry, please feel free to return it, including any packaging, using our Freepost address below, and we’ll send it back to the supplier for further testing. There’s no need for a stamp:
