Yamaha FG820 Acoustic Guitar Autumn Burst Yamaha is proud to unveil the new FG800 Series of acoustic guitars. These updated models will replace the successful FG700 Series while keeping the unique character of this legendary range of instruments. FG800 Series: Things you need to know - Replaces the successful FG700 Series - Solid top acoustic guitars - Scalloped X Bracing for more volume and more bass - Carefully built to last a lifetime - Series includes a reimaging of the classic FG180, limited to 250 pcs in Europe The FG800 models have been developed based on extensive research as well as feedback from players, dealers, customers and industry experts. We found that lots of things didn euro;™t need to be touched euro;“ But there was a consistent theme: People wanted to go back towards the original FG180 sound with just a little more volume, a little more bass, a little more oomph. To achieve this, we relied on a proprietary software that the Yamaha Elemental Technology division created to analyse and simulate the tonal characteristics of musical instruments, from a construction viewpoint. This way, we were able to understand exactly what the bracing was doing to the top of the guitar to create the instrument euro;™s voice euro;“ and we could backwards engineer a design to give us the tone we wanted. The result of this unique engineering approach is a totally new scalloped bracing pattern. It gives the FG800 models more volume, more projection, more low end and a bigger tone for the player euro;“ everything we set out to do. In addition, the new bracing pattern moves the resonant centre much closer to the middle of the guitar, with a big impact on both the tone and the feel to the player. Furthermore the FS-Models get a shallower body (90-110mm) compared to the 700-Series (100-120mm) for improved playability especially for beginners. But the goal was not only to create a guitar that sounds great today, but one that also lasts for a lifetime. So we did just that while staying at the forefront of guitar-building technology euro;“ as the FG Series always has. A solid top board, a 0.25mm thin finish for great tone and superior wood protection, a super-comfortable thin neck profile and a thin back and sides construction ensure maximum volume and resonance with long-term stability. In addition to warmer and stronger sound thanks to the mahogany back and sides, the body binding and fingerboard binding are cream plastic, for an upgraded look. A wealth of color options are available.
