Hello David, sorry to hear you are having an issue. There are always small tolerances in mouldings and this can increased due to wear and tare on the lockng mechanism of your middle stem. A new locking mechanism will sort this out or if you can phone me Marcus on 0121 359 2379 I can explain to you a free way to stiffen the stem up
