“I have owned a Fisher F19 for many years, it has served me well. I use the Nel Hunter search coil because it affords me very good ground coverage without significantly impacting recovery/separation among iron -laden ground. The search coil 'leads' well, due to its configuration (I don't prefer round search coils over 9 inches in diameter). The search coil isn't heavy, yet it is very robust indeed. For 'depth fanatics', you will gain 2 to 3 centimeters, depending on ground properties. Working amongst iron is not a discipline where depth is of great concern, however, on clean, damp soils depths of 8" are not un-common on thin-section silver hammered coins of penny size.”
