“Had a great deal for Manticore and free pointer, arrived next day and all great! Only problem is, I took the detector out for the first time and noticed in the sunlight the screen appears partly 'crystallized' and is very noticeable before detector is switched on, hardly noticeable when on. I put one of the screen protectors on as soon as out of the box, thinking it was that, changed for another protector but it's actually screen of the detector at fault. UPDATE: This is being retrieved by the vendor for return to Minelab for them to examine and am receiving replacement shortly. As a detector it is the best I have ever used, saves all that frustrating iron digging and this became apparent within 30 minutes of first day of use, I am waiting for replacement so will add to this summary after next trip out with my detecting partner who also has the Manticore and recommended it to me. So far it's a step up from any other machine I have used - it ain't cheap but it's good. UPDATE 2: Received prompt replacement and screen is perfect on this, seems like a one-off issue but the detector's performance is fantastic - would recommend to experienced detectorists - it's well worth the money!”
