“Purchased this item as I was damaging my boots using a conventional spade. The Black Ada is very easy to use and the wide foot bars are an excellent addition. The spade itself cuts through soil easily and leaves a neat hole. The only slight criticism is the stainless steel handle when wet is slippery, I will probably add plastic tape or a rubber grip to improve things. Personally I don't find it heavy to carry, overall very pleased with my purchase.”

“Just used my Gladius stainless for the first time, absolutely love it, I'm a skinny individual who sometimes struggles digging with a conventional spade, however this is something completely different, give it a tap into the ground and then use the stirrups by standing on them, can't think why this hasn't been done before! Well done Black Ada.”

“Bomb proof, last a life time I believe. I would make a ( in my opinion ) a slight modification. At the rear of the spade, I’d weld a flat bar between the top of the spade head and the foot plate . Lifting the soil out of the hole with your boot is quite awkward with a round stem, the flat bar would make it perfect”

“I am extremely pleased with this product, it gives me the ability to dig much smaller neater plugs than my old border spade did. The footpegs are just right and the T-bar handle feels comfortable.”
