Pierces the ground well but way too short for a 6 foot guy. I will be buying a new space shortly with a much longer handle and a longer blade.

The spade is OK, but struggles to get through the harder ground, even the long grass is a tough task. Took a grinder to it to git it a sharper edge. The foot plates are not too good in wet conditions,- extremely slippery.
