Winter Special 20% Off RRP - excludes certain colours and finishes

Bedec Extra-Flex masonry paint, for roughcast, pebble-dash, brickwork, cement and concrete rendered surfaces, providing a smooth, long lasting finish that stretches up to 400% to prevent further cracking.

Extra-Flex masonry paint is an ideal purchase for anyone looking to protect exterior masonry, such as roughcast, pebble-dash, brickwork, cement and concrete rendered surfaces. The modified acrylic blend is a flexible microporous protective coating that will flex with the substrate where movement causes cracking in conventional coatings. It can be applied to previously painted surfaces after suitable preparation and can be used as an anti carbonation coating to help prevent concrete spalling.

Best Uses

Extra-Flex is best used to bridge hairline cracks found in exterior walls. It is ideally suited for the protection of exterior masonry, roughcast, pebble-dash, brickwork, cement and concrete rendered surfaces. This paint provides surfaces with a smooth, long lasting finish that stretches up to 400%, to aid the prevention of further cracking after the fine cracks have been bridged.

Application

Extra-Flex is suitable for application by brush, roller, airless spray, conventional spray or HVLP equipment. It should not be applied at temperatures below 10 degrees C or if rain is expected before the paint is touch dry. The paint has a theoretical coverage rate of 10m2 per litre depending on the surface and is touch dry in just 2 hours at 20 degrees C, where relative humidity (RH) should not exceed 65%. At this temperature, a second coat can be applied after 4 hours, although this time will need to be increased at lower temperatures. If in doubt, allow extra time for the paint to dry.

Extra-Flex is not recommended for application to Fletton or Stock Bricks or to walls that have been coated with Limewash. We can talk to you about a different coating if you need coat one of the previously mentioned substrates. Our guide to painting exterior brickwork offers advice that will help you here.

Surface and Environment

Bedec Extra-Flex is a masonry paint. It can be used on a wide range of exterior masonry surfaces and works well in the outdoor environment to protect surfaces against further damages caused by weathering. It can be applied to a range of walls and is available in almost every colour when you contact our technical support team.

This superb stuff. Used it on our pod house and 8 years later it was still looking fresh. Just had our new house painted and the guys doing it said this was the best paint they have used. Great service as well. Very impressed and highly recommended.

Bedec Masonry paint is shinier and more resistant to dirt and mould than all the Weathershield and Sandtex paints I have used before, and I have found it much less likely to allow dirt, moss and fungal growth to get a grip. Follow the instructions and it's good at sealing & covering fine, spidery cracks but don't expect miracles. In an exposed coastal location it is weathering very well, so I believe that it's worth the extra money. NB 2 coats are required to give an effective barrier, but more if you are trying to cover a different colour.

my house hasn't been painted for some 10 years so during lockdown I decided to do it there were quite a few repairs that needed doing to the render so I chased out the cracks filled with resin and covered over with Glixtone tough coat high build I then proceeded to apply 2 coats of bedec extra flex masonry paint. I must say that it is the best masonry paint that I have used it covered really well bearing in mind time since last painted and was a nice thick consistency I would highly recommend this paint to anyone considering painting there house. many Thanks

Excellent Paint - thick consistency that fills in small inperfections well. Has transformed my Masonry Walls. It does need two coats for a even coverage and we found was much better applied by a brush rather than a roller.

The flexibility of this paint is beyond question, its terrific at covering hairline cracks in render. Similarly, as a durable water proof finish again it is exceptionally good. The downside is it's covering ability or opacity, overcoating an existing magnolia paint with the Bedec Extr-Flex Masonry Paint in the same colour required three coats when using a roller in order to achieve a solid even colour which is disappointing especially when the other properties are so exceptional. Would still recommend it for if nothing else the crack covering.
