I became aware of the Senco brand as a carpenter friend has a PC1010 air compressor, and I was impressed by its compact size and quiet running (I had a massive, clunky Rolson 25L machine that ran at 97db and used to have to wear ear defenders when using it). After researching the Senco range, I noted that the AC8305 has an even lower noise output, and that was the main deciding factor in choosing the latter model. I preferred the slightly larger capacity 5L tank, and the way the roll cage encloses the whole machine. It is somewhat heavier than the PC1010 (14 vs 9kg), and a little bit larger, but the white finish makes it more visible and the weight and cage design make it more difficult to knock over (easy for this to happen with other trades working on-site, or even when reaching the limit of the air hose length whilst working). The cage also protects it very well during transport if carry case items are stacked on or around it. The noise suppression is superlative. Even better than I expected, knowing already how quietly the PC1010 runs. Meanwhile the front panel layout is very clear and easy to use/read, and I love the way the drain valve is designed and located, just a quarter turn on a lever at the bottom of the front panel. Much better than the knurled brass type on the underside of the reservoir: hard to locate and even harder to tighten and loosen. I've only used the compressor on one job so far, but it kept up with the demands of my brad nailer no problem. Excellent piece of kit and I'm very happy with my purchase choice.
