Bought this to prep walls prior to painting. First up, the build quality is very good. A solid bit of kit. The payoff for this, though, is that it's quite a heavy unit. No big deal when working on a bench but when you're running it over walls it can get a bit weighty. That said, it runs very stable - and certainly on the lower orbital setting the vibrations through the handle(s) are reasonably low. Coupled with a 3M Xtract disc it makes short work of flaky skim and hardened filler - and when connected to a vacuum this setup leaves very little dust. One minor point though, there's no vacuum hose adapter included in the kit, which is a bit of an oversight considering it's a sander. One niggle I have is the 'turbo' button. I get that it's placed for convenience but I find that I'm often switching it on or off by accident - though this might be down to using the tool vertically. All-in-all I'm delighted with the sander for the price. It feels like it'll last a good long while and tackle a wide variety of jobs.

quality kit. Unlike cheapo sanders with no torque, this one has plenty of power. Two stage setting is good for final finishing. Feels solid and well made (like all Metabo tools....)

usual metabo quality like the multi hole sanding pad might be better with thicker cord
