Available In 110v & 240vMakita SP6000J2 Plunge Cut Saw 165mm inc 2x Guide Rails & Makpac Case
The Makita 165mm Plunge Cut Circular Saw and 1.5m (59”) Guide Rails work together to produce accurate cuts with minimal tear-out. The saw combines a powerful 12 AMP motor and a large cutting capacity with magnesium components for less weight and electronic speed control to maintain constant speed under load for smooth cutting and a splinter-free mirror finish. The SP6000J2 is a more portable option to a table saw for select applications, and it is ideal for use on the jobsite or in a workshop.
Precision Settings and Features for Quality Cuts
The SP6000J2 saw has a bevel capability of -1° to 48° with positive stops at 22.5° and 45°. The saw delivers precise cutting, as the position of the blade enters the material on the same cutting line whether cutting straight or bevel. In addition, the saw has close-to-wall cutting (18mm) for expanded cutting applications. The built-in depth stop allows a preliminary cut of 2mm to be performed before the entire material is cut through for clean and splinter-free cutting.
12 AMP Direct-Drive Power for Smooth Cutting
The SP6000J2 has a powerful 12 AMP motor with soft start for smooth start-ups, and Electronic Speed Control to maintain a constant speed under load for smooth cutting. The variable speed dial control (2,000 – 5,200 RPM) allows the user to set the speed for optimum performance in a variety of materials. The built-in torque limiter helps prevent motor burnout, with an electric brake for added productivity.
Precision Cuts and Ease of Use
The saw includes a range of convenient features, including a large top handle, an electric brake for more productivity, as well as a lock-lever that attaches the saw to the rail system so the saw stays on the anodised aluminium rail when positioned for a bevel cut. The smooth and convenient plunge release lever is designed for operator comfort, and the depth adjustment with large scale is easy to set.
Best in Class for a Range of Applications
The SP6000J2 is engineered for cutting sheet material, finish work, trim work, and remodelling. It is ideal for a broad range of trades, including cabinet installers, cabinet manufacturers, finish carpenters, stair installers, flooring installers, woodworkers, and general contractors seeking a best-in-class 165mm Plunge Circular Saw.

Awesome bit of kit. So accurate it hurts. Works with festool rails as well. The double rails and joiner works so well for ripping up full 8x4 sheets. Delivery was very quick and price was very good!

Brilliant bit of kit for the money. With it came with the bag for the rails but for now I'm just using the cardboard box they come in. Also had to buy the rail clamps separately which is another £30. 10/10 for the saw and the saw box though.

This saw is a superb piece of kit. First job I used it on was to cut some Iroko kitchen worktops and it performed brilliantly. Feels quality, great power and extremely precise. Had to cut in several passes but gave a very good finish. Quick setting for a 2mm deep first pass to prevent splintering is handy. Rails are good quality too, and don't shift about even without clamping. Overall, very pleased and looks like it'll last a long time.

Overall the product is very good, however, improvements are definitely needed. If you're buying for the first time, then order a top quality blade for the work you're doing- the Makita blade that comes with the saw is not fit for purpose (and I will be complaining to Makita). Also the instructions on how to set up the saw into the rails, and trim the splinter guard are woefully inadequate if you are doing accurate work. Make sure you understand how the saw functions in the rails first and set it as tight as it will go to avoid lateral movement during use (or as the instructions put it: ''to avoid clatter''!!!). Connect the rails, then to trim the splinter guard, plunge the saw half way along the first rail and trim to half way along the second. Disconnect the rails and connect up the two ends that you have not trimmed. Then repeat the above process. This will avoid lateral movement when coming off the rails when cutting, and leave you with an accurate line to work with.
