I was having trouble with my old hammer drill putting up curtain rails on a concrete lintel. I decided to buy this SDS drill and give it a go. It was absolutely fine and, combined with a carbon tipped SDS drill bit, it drilled the holes as if the lintel wasn’t even there. Very impressed.

Typical Makita quality with a good strong case. As a tool it’s got exactly the right combination of weight and power. I bought it mainly for raking out mortar in stone walls rather than carry on using my older and much heavier SDS drill and this is proving to be much easier to use without putting so much strain on my shoulders. It has more than enough power for drilling into concrete but is light enough to be able to use it all day. Very pleased with it.
