Very good drill, amazing. just wish the delivery driver delivers the White House because they say every time I order something from you always goes to a different number of the house.

The new 40v version has so much more power than the 18v. I'm a site plumber and never found a decent enough drill for 1st fixing until this beast. Well worth the money. However this is my 2nd 40v combi drill as the 1st one had to sent off for repair twice in 3 months. I think once the teething problems are sorted then makita have a great product finally

Maybe it's just my luck but I bought the new 40v Combi drill and writhing 3 days it had to go off for repair. I had it back "3 weeks later" after being told I will have it back in 5 working days. When I eventually had it back there were 2 screws missing. It then developed another fault where gear 2 keeps clutching out more often than not. Gear 1 was ok. I have yet to return it again but I feel completely disappointed with the 40v range that I have lost confidence in buying Makita again

Makita at its very best. A very well made, powerful drill, hardly any bigger than the 481, but with significantly more power. The uprated torque is very impressive. Will be interesting to see how Makita develop the 40 volt XGT platform over time.
