This very handy power wrench seems to have remarkable torque, though I have only tried it on some test pieces in a vice so far, not on actual rusty bolts in the depths of an engine bay. The body of the wrench is remarkably slim, and using a slim battery is a must if you don’t want to upset the balance of the tool in your hand. The direction reverse switch is awkwardly placed, but fairly usable. Changing the tool adapter head is also a little clunky (sticking a screwdriver in the end, then banging it on your bench), but it’s not something you need to do every day, so not too inconvenient. Finally, if you want to drive 1/2” sockets, then you need to buy a separate adapter as the two standard ones only cater for 1/4” and 3/8” sockets. These are only about £6 on Amazon, but it would have been nice to see one included in the box. Note that the third party adapter needs to be plugged into the included 3/8” drive, which lengthens the driving end of the wrench somewhat; it’s not possible to buy a genuine Makita 1/2” head that does this directly.

Absolutely great bit of kit but then again it's Makita.. Although it seems expensive, you get exactly what you pay pay, quality and reliability at a price... Solid, well built, all round tool whether you're using 1/4" or 3/8" sockets...

It's a Makita, it does what you'd expect it to. Nicely built, works perfectly. The only slight gripe with this one that I've not had with any of the others is that the little white plastic rollers where the battery slides in have both fallen out, doesn't seem to effect anything, I think these rollers are there to smooth the engagement of the battery into the body, but strange they've both dropped out of this tool and not the other 10 or so I've got.

If you're part of the Makita universe this is a good powerful 3/8th ratchet for automotive use. No issues with the power or performance, but I would have preferred it with a standard 3/8th head rather than the gimmicky (to my mind) adapter to convert to 1/4 inch drive. If they do a straight 3/8ths then that's my mistake for not looking properly.

Found when winding nuts onto fresh galv ubolts an impact wrench creates dust and locks the nut, this solves that problem mostly....not as powerful/fast as the impacts but a great bit of kit none the less. Great for working on machines winding out lots of cover screws!
