Makita DUX60Z Twin 18v (36v) LXT Cordless Brushless Split-Shaft Multi Tool Motor Body Only The Makita DUX60Z LXT split-shaft motor unit has an effective output of 600 watts and a three speed drive system that will run up to 9,700 rpm in Hi; 8,200 rpm in Medium mode and 5,700 rpm in Lo speed. A reverse gear is also featured. The DUX60Z features the soft start system to protect the operator from initial power loading, variable speed control, an electric brake and overload protection, coupled with AFT, Makita’s "Active Feedback Sensing Technology" that shuts down the tool if the rotation speed suddenly reduces or if the blade or line head snags. The On-Off button with Auto-Off turns the power off if the trigger is not activated for 60 seconds. The versatile attachments are easily fitted with a tool-less slide joint coupling with a simple clip-lock fixing the attachment securely in place. With any of the tool heads attached and the two 18v batteries clipped into the motor housing, the overall balance of the complete machine is excellent with the loop handle perfectly positioned for complete machine control and manoeuvrability. Maximum weight with the largest batteries and tool head is just 8.7kg. This DUX60Z Split-Shaft Multi Tool is a body only machine - attachments, batteries and chargers are sold separately. “I was pleasantly surprised at how well this system works it has more pro's than con's. Running it as a strimmer & brush cutter is great there is a lot of power on tap as all I have to do here is swap out strimmer head for brush cutter blade from Makita & it's double sided is the blade. Using the hedge trimmer can be a little cumbersome due to it's great length but is easier than the Makita cordless hedge trimmer I used to have & it can get to the high place you need ladders for with a normal hedge trimmer and to boot there is a lot more range and scope on it. It makes a great cultivator for turning the soil over it has got lots of power I meen lots of grunt it's better than a petrol or corded cultivator. & lets not forget the Makita bag you can buy for this I have mine in one of these contractor bags with the main power head in it along with the strimmer brush cutter & hedge trimmer & cultivator all in a nice neat package all four parts with tools needed for maintain them with.”

“As I plan to go fully rechargeable over the next few years a multi tool such as this allows me to combine many leess used tools saving both expense and space. Ihave enjoyed using it as a strimmer and brushcutter it is well balanced and comfortable use. Investing in a back pack power supply will be on the list to improve the working time between battery changes but at around 45 minutes per 2 batteries there is enough time to clear a good area.”
