The Makita DUR368A has been designed to suit the needs of commercial end users looking for a high powered, quiet and easy to use alternative to a petrol alternative, without the compromise on power. It features a steel drive shaft for less vibration and longer life.
This Makita DUR368AZ is supplied body only and requires 2x 18 volt LXT lithium-ion batteries to operate (sold separately). Comes supplied with a nylon wire head, 2x hex wrenches, accessory bag and shoulder strap. Features a "U-Handle" design as standard.
FEATURES

3 Stage Speed Control – high, medium and low speed, can be changed by simply pushing a button on the easy to use LED display
Reverse Switch – tangled grass clippings can be removed by slow reverse rotation of the cutting tool (automatically stops after three seconds) by pressing button and pulling trigger
XPT – extreme protection technology, is an advanced series of seals and channels to direct dust and moisture away from critical components
Active-feedback technology – when used with metal blade (optional) hit a solid object like a tree stump or fence, the sudden decrease in rpm triggers the brake, stopping kickback occurring

U-Handle Design – designed so that the centre line of the handle bars stays aligned with the users centre of gravity

This is a heavy duty tool which cuts through dense weeds with ease. Need to wear protective clothing and face protection. This is a new purchase but so far very impressed with it.

Excellent machine, as good as a medium-sized petrol Strummer and much cleaner and quieter. Gets about 25 minutes out of a charge.

Brilliant, light and no noise, very well balanced and the batteries lasted much longer than expected for the size of our garden. Delivery company let you down but received on second day

As good as any petrol version. Persoannly I'd rather swap batteries every 1/2 hour (at full pelt) than topping up petrol. I practice the batteries last a lot longer anyway. Ability to run at lower speed both save on battery and makes it possible to trim rather than annihilate around garden plants/trees, bushes

More than satisfied. With two 5 amp batteries I can strim my half acre property. Tidy edges and cut down overgrown areas. Lightweight and easy to handle. The 3 speed options are excellent. Low for trimming borders and medium and high for overgrown areas.

Lightweight and easy to use. Supplied with 2mm line. Changed it to 2.4mm Makita line and this really improved strimmibg performance. I use Makita 3ah battery and get about 20 mins before recharge needed. Would probably be better to use 4ah or 5ah batteries if you have a large area to strim.
