Makita DUR187LZ 18v LXT Brushless Grass Line Trimmer Strimmer Body Only The DUR187L Line Trimmer is a lightweight version of DUR182 series - thanks to the addition of the latest Brushless technology motor. It also has speed selection with x3 selectable speeds. ADT Technology has been introduced for optimum operation by changing cutting speed according to load condition. Powered by a single Makita LXT 18v Lithium-Ion battery (sold separately). “I purchased the Makita DUR187LZ trimmer Strimmer body only as I have a range of Makita tools. I have only used it twice but I have found it very easy to handle and not clumsy due to not having the cord to worry about.”

“Its a very capable strimmer and has already had quite a lot of use. good points are its light and battery life appears to be good. Bad points are the guard is hopeless and you get covered with what you are strimming. Also the soft plastic line head has already hit a stone and got a deep cut in it. Why cannot manufactures work out that components like this need a hard durable surface. I can see this failing/cracking long before the rest of the product. No idea if you can buy replacements. Reverse gear is hopeless as it works against the thread when stopped of the strimmer head and it undid itself, fell off and disappeared into a hedge. Thread lock might help this but then you have the fun of undoing it to refill it. For what it cost a spool line to keep me going for a bit would have been a big plus”

“Can't praise this tool highly enough. Has handled everything I have thrown at it. Light and easy to use and copes with 2 acres easily. Will be adding other tools on the system as petrol tools wear out.”

“I found this to be an excellent product that exceeded my expectations. I was doubtful that a battery powered product would be powerful enough but it was. Also past strimmers I have had with this type of line feed have not worked very well but this one worked perfectly. I managed to trim my whole garden 150ft x 40ft on one charge with no trouble at all. My only (minor) complaint is the length of the tool makes it difficult to store. Highly recommend it.”
