Pro’s: Build quality and design good, battery life is excellent (completed over 1 1/2 hours of trimming on 1 battery with charge remaining), fairly lightweight, cutting head does a nice job up to 10mm thick stems, head angle adjustment quick and easy, with good range. Con’s: Hand position to find a balance point is a bit awkward. Using full extent of pole length can be tough unless it’s possible to get one hand a fair way up the pole. Got a good upper body work out from first couple of hedge trimming sessions. Overall: Would recommend, especially for Makita tools battery system users

Excellent piece of kit, a game changer for me. We have a number of high hedges with difficult access and this trimmer is superb as it I no longer have to balance (wobble) on step ladders!. I have a standard Makita trimmer which I've used and abused over the years and it's still going strong so if this does similar then it's money extremely well spent.

I already have a number of Makita 18v products and the hedge trimmer was just what I wanted. Usual high quality construction by Makita and operates as I wanted - top marks on a very adaptable product.

Unit advertised by Powertoolworld (& Makita) as having a reverse action and when I informed them (after receiving my order) that it did not their "technical dept" persisted in claiming that it did! It DOES NOT have a reverse action and that fact has now been confirmed by Makita UK. I advised Powertoolworld of this fact when I first received the item and also again when I forwarded Makita UK's correspondence confirming this model DOES NOT have reverse action - yet over 3 weeks later their web site still states the unit has reverse action.

Hi Dean, Thanks again for raising this. As we’ve discussed, based upon your feedback we and Makita have been able to update our product listings. Thanks again.

Easily assembled and adjusted. Long reach saves time since stepladders not required. Plus much quieter operation compared to my old hedge trimmer. I would recommend.
