Well, it is very big and heavy. And it is brushed. But it's very, very smooth running and quiet. I have 3 more multitools, including a Fein SuperCut - and can say that this Makita runs smoother than it. With good sharp blades and new sandpads it can cut and send quite good. Also - it can take all the attachment types (both Dewalt and Starlock ones), at least all of them that iIhave. You have to make sure that the attachment is firmly fixed with the nut pressed and does not move before you press back the lever, sometimes it is not fixed properly and rattles when you turn on the machine, if you notice rattle - stop the tool immediately and re-fix the attachment. Overall - a good multitool, it is just that it is very big, heavy and brushed, when there are newer, lighter and brushless models at the moment.
