This is my 4th Makita job site radio with a love of this manufacturer I’ve found for this first time that I’m disappointed by this model by just one thing….Bass! there’s way too much bass on DAB!!! I’ve found myself constantly wanting to turn the treble up on a equaliser that doesn’t exist although interestingly it’s fine on Bluetooth via my iPhone playback Also be aware of the weight of this model, it’s not the lightest to carry around!

Bought this for my husband as his old one stopped receiving DAB channels. Something to do with them moving over to DAB+ which was annoying because his old Makita radio worked just fine. Anyway,I thought I’d get him this one because it had the battery charger built in to it, it seemed like a handy extra. Needless to say he was very happy with it, it has Bluetooth, you can charge your phone and a Makita battery if you need to and he can get all of his DAB radio stations.

When you pick it up it cuts out and says power failure. Pretty poor build quality compared to the old ones and feels cheaply made for the price. Waiting for ours to get repaired or replaced.

I bought this for home/garden use. I am retired and have a large garden. I have a good range of Makita 18v tools and so already have 3 batteries & charger. The appeal of the DMR301 is that it is so simple to use. It gives me DAB radio in the Garage, Greenhouse or where ever and I can Bluetooth music to it as well. The ability of it to charge batteries, or a pone, I suspect I won't use but I love it!
