I believe that this is probably the best of worlds for SDS and brushless drills. Has the hammer only function and through experience, i have removed fireplaces and brick work with this drill. I have replaced the chuck inners after 3 years, and have now bought a second one for myself.

Ummed about getting this version or the smaller one but definitely made the right choice. Put to work drilling holes immediately which go through a hot knife through butter, and channeling out with the impact setting. Very pleased!

I'm a Carpenter and all my kit is Makita, so I'm already a convert. Perfect for me but if you only need a drill to do less than 17mm holes in concrete the smaller 17mm drill is a bit lighter.
