Makita DHP481Z 18v LXT Brushless Combi Drill Body Only
The Makita DHP481 LXT combi drill is powered by an 18v lithium-ion battery and the brushless motor enables up to twice the run-time of traditional motors. This two-speed drill will run up to 2,100rpm in high gear and 550rpm in low. It will deliver 31,500 impacts per minute in high gear and 8,250 impacts per minute in low gear. The 13mm single sleeve keyless chuck enables 16mm capacity in masonry, 13mm in steel and a massive 76mm in timber. Torque can be adjusted to 21 alternative settings and has a dedicated drilling mode. The DHP481 will generate 60Nm of fastening torque (soft joint) and between 115-125Nm (hard joint), the highest torque yet from the Makita 18v range.
There are twin LED job lights with afterglow once the variable speed trigger is released and a new side handle configuration gives light tool control. Coupled with the soft grip ergonomic handle design positive drill-driver capability is assured. It weighs just 2.7kg, and is more compact (20mm shorter) than the previous BHP458 model. Batteries and charger sold separately.

Serious piece of kit. With its high k/nm of punch and a descent drill bit there is no stopping this drill. A word of caution though, use the bloody side handle when you can, as I found out to my detriment while cutting with a hole-saw(105mm). Wrist still aches after seven days. Drill compact and great for getting in those tight spaces but is heavy due to its weft. All in all a really good buy.

Absolute beast of a drill. I had thought my 32mm Irwin blue bits were blunt ... but it was my old toy of a drill. This went through pitch pine so fast I nearly time travelled to before I went to drill the hole. Enjoyed it so much I just kept drilling ... the customers roof collapsed, but damn it was easy to drill. Must find another customer that will allow me to drill more holes ... once I get out of the asylum! Would buy again if I needed to drill two holes at once. Highly recommended for any teal tool lover.

Brilliant bit of kit. I'm a kitchen / bathroom installer so need good tools. Very powerful, wider than lxt dhp458, but shorter and slightly heavier. Definitely recommend

This drill is exceptional. It powered through metal with ease and deep into concrete. The battery indicator on the tool is also really helpful and saves you having to press the battery power indicator. The fact that it’s brushless also saves battery power as well. Great purchase.

This is far and away the best combi drill I have owned. I'm on my second one as the previous one got such a hammering that the gearbox wore out after about six years. A really beautiful tool.
