The WST05 from Makita is a highly durable mitre saw stand which folds away flat for easy storage. It has a trolley function which allows easy transportation of the attached mitre saw around the jobsite.

“Solid construction but let down by the wheel assembly components. When assembling the axle and wheels I saw a potential problem. The wheels would rub against to frame and there was no washer to stop the wheel on the left side from falling off. It needed one to fit next to the nylock nut to stop the axle from sliding in the frame. I checked the components to see if there was any included but nothing found. In fact, I had to source 3 washers to make the axle and wheels fit securely. The image in the instructions wasn’t large enough to see in detail the parts needed for the axle assembly. Thankfully I had a selection of washers to choose from - something for potential buyers to be aware of.”

“A purpose built stand c/w trolley for my Makita LS1214L saw. Easy to assemble and comes with all the necessary bolts to fix the saw to the stand. The stand itself is 30+kgs, so with the saw attached it's a fair weight but the convenience and mobility outweighs that, plus it has a gas strut to assist when unlocking the unit and raising it from a trolley to saw stand (with two height options). I should bought one of these years ago.”

“It’s well made ,very strong and simple to assemble all you need is supplied ,once saw is on the stand it is very easy to collapse it and raise it to working position.”

“Very poor quality. Bits missing from the box. wheels are not going to last long cheap plastic should be rubber. Locking the saw I position with thumb locals are poor. When the stand is folded the saw slips down. Which has damaged the saw itself now. Extenders are of poor quality, too small and difficult to turn thumb turns. Lifting mechanism is good but again poor quality and could be better. This is not a makita rated item. I’ve had better quality from a £30 stand. And at £200 this is not good enough.”
