I have used this as a fridge when camping it has kept the temperature well. Uses about 2 x 5amp batteries in 14hrs in warm weather. Also really good when powered on 12v leads or mains. Even when turned off it keeps cool using ice blocks

So I was a little sceptical ordering this cooler as it was expensive, but as I have a number of Makita tools I thought it was a safer route. This cooler is brilliant, works well and cools quickly. All the 12V and Mains leads come with the unit and you also plug in your Makita LXT batteries, so easy to use and get going.

Accepting that it’s quite expensive, this is a great bit of kit. Made well up to the usual Makita standards. One tiny criticism is that, although the battery bay is bigger than the batteries, they are just a little bit difficult to remove. Those with big hands and fat fingers may want to have a slimer person accompany them on their picnic if battery changes are envisaged. Also the battery bay is not big enough to accommodate the 9 amp "(not) Makita" style batteries available from certain outlets. The run time was impressive - pre-cooling on mains, and not opening the lid at all gave me 30 hours at 5c on two 6 amp batteries inside the house. Well recommended.
