Makita have launched their new 10.8v CXT 'Slide' range, including this impressive twin kit including HP331D Combi Drill and the TD110D Impact Driver. This kit comes complete with 2x BL1020B 10.8v 2.0Ah slide batteries, DC10WC 10.8v slide battery charger and a Makpac connector case (type 1).

“This is a superb set and absolutely excellent value. I deliberated for some time because I was unsure whether I should go for this or the 18v set. I didn't want to regret in time not springing for something more powerful. However, having used both the drill and the impact driver I've no concerns. I didn't buy this for trade use. Instead, I bought it as an upgrade to an old 18v Black and Decker drill-driver I've been using for DIY for almost 10 years. There is no comparison between them - the new 10.8v drill is *vastly* more powerful than the old 18v one. The difference is phenomenal. What is more, it is about half the size and weight of the 18v drill. In hindsight, I would happily have paid this much for just the drill if I'd known if would be so much of an upgrade. Having literally ripper a screw in half with the impact driver and done some masonry drilling with the drill, I have no concerns at all that these will not be sufficiently powerful for my needs. If I were doing a lot of automotive work then I might consider a more substantial impact driver, but I think this will be more than adequate for my needs. As it is, I'm happy to have paid less than half the cost of an 18v brushless set for something more than adequate for my needs, and particularly so given how very small and late these tools are. When I first unpacked the box I was annoyed that I didn't seem to have received any batteries, before I realised they were already installed in the tools. That's how small and light they are!”

“Bought this set because of impact driver - should have more power than my old Makita 18V combi drill. Well - it hasnt. But how often are you using 10"self-tapping screws? Still, softwood so was expecting no problem. Simply it didn't like it. Having said that, I must say 4" screws, no problems. Very good for smaller jobs, or smaller screws like for DIY-ers, furniture makers, decking/kitchen fitters, etc. great. Not for big, large projects. Will still keep it, luckily I am not using 10" bolts that often.”

“Was a Christmas present for my daughter so l wanted to get her a decent drill that had ease of use. This is perfect and i am thinking of getting one for my self! Lightweight but not flimsy and very easy to change bits. Would highly recommend”

“As a competent DIYer I wanted something light, with a robust battery platform. Both the drill and impact driver are excellent for what I need. Cant comment whether they would take the demands of a full time tradesman but for light everyday use you cant go wrong at this price.”
