“I purchased separately a Mak type 2 case for my new DTW51Z (half the price of others selling bundles with the case and insert online) and this insert made a great addition to my already growing stack of Makita tools. The DTW51Z fits perfectly in a size 2 Mak case with this insert, but if you want to also fit a charger (e.g. single battery DC18RC) with it you will need the taller type 3 case, as the cut out places the charger vertically on end and not flat on its base. There is also plenty of room and another moulded area to hold spare cutter heads in the case with this insert.”
