Makita EN401MP Split-Shaft Multi Tool Hedge Trimmer Attachment Only for DUX60 / UX01G Makita Hedge Trimmer attachment for the DUX60Z Split-Shaft Multi Tool. It has a 20” double-sided blade with 13 angle settings for efficient trimming of overhead and low-lying hedges. Efficiency features include an angle change lever for quick and easy adjustments to the blade angle, and 180 degree blade adjustment that allows the blade to be positioned along the shaft for convenient transport and storage. The versatile attachments are easily fitted with a tool-less slide joint coupling with a simple clip-lock fixing the attachment securely in place. With any of the tool heads attached and the two 18v batteries clipped into the motor housing, the overall balance of the complete machine is excellent with the loop handle perfectly positioned for complete machine control and manoeuvrability. Maximum weight with the largest batteries and tool head is just 8.7kg. “Having bought this a couple of weeks back but only used it today on 20/07/23 it cut lovely it's sharp great for high privet hedge I would say the only down side is it's a little long when you cut from bottom to top when doing the hedge side but expected this before using it as I opened it up to look at the length of it so various angles to suit me. It's very versatile too in what position you can put this in to suit your method of cutting and weight wise it's very good for the size of it when attached to a dux60 overall very nice can't fault it.”

“Far to long and heavy doesn’t feel balanced , could not cut close to myself which means will have to buy another cordless product to do overall job , was limited to how long I could use it till back pain became too much , maybe a shorter attachment without adjustable head”

Hi, thank you for the feedback & comments, we have passed these on to Makita to aid their constant research & development program. As yet there is not a shorter, straight shaft attachment to fit the split shaft range of power units available, so for this type of application a standard type hedge cutter would seem more appropriate. “Weighty, but cuts effortlessly. Needed it to cut the tops of tall hedge. Would be useful if there was a loop to attach the shoulder strap to help balance the weight.l as it can be a bit tiring to hold for any period of time which makes it difficult to handle.”

“Good attachment, robustly constructed and part of going 'Green' i.e. moving away from petrol driven garden power tools. Attachment a bit heavier than I expected but it gives the long reach and power I was looking for. As a bit heavy I gave it a good rather than an excellent score but I would rate it excellent for quality.”
