“Very disappointed in these Makita hook and loop backing pads - every single one I have ever purchased has suffered from incredibly poor adhesion of the hook/loop layer to the layer immediately below. This is on first use, every time - heat build-up during use is not a factor. Immediately out of the pack expect bubbles and poor alignment - mild finger pressure to rectify bubbles will often slide the whole layer way over the edge of the pad. If you think that's bad, wait until you try to remove an actual sanding sheet that they have been designed to accommodate. I've gone through at least a dozen of these in 6 months - they turn to a complete mess and last no time at all, but I am yet to find an alternative. Clipping sheets using the levers just doesn't cut it as compared to hook and loop sanding. This is an issue on both DBO380 and DBO480 hook and loop backing pads - I have never experienced this on DBO180 backing pads (all Makita OEM consumables).”
