“I've had Hitachi (now HiKOKI) drills for years, I am most comfortable with them. So I sort of knew what I was getting before I bought, but these latest models are smaller and lighter than the previous ones, and with the more powerful batteries now available should give even better service. Only slight concern is that the new batteries whilst more powerful, have a smaller 'foot' size that the previous models, meaning the drill is slightly more unstable when it's put down. This leads to it falling over, which can be a little annoying. I believe this is the general 'fashion' for all batteries is this smaller footprint, so i guess that's progress! Other than that very pleased, little things like the accurate speed control on the 'throttle' mean I much prefer these to the DeWalt and Makitas you see everywhere.”
